Serbian President Boris Tadic in Shanghai on Monday called on more Chinese companies to invest in his country.
"As a strategic geographic crossroad between western and eastern Europe, Serbia has signed free trade agreements with lots of European countries, and is preparing to be a member of the European Union," he told a trade and investment forum in Shanghai.
Foreign companies investing in Serbia would enjoy a huge EU market and be supported with preferential tariff treatment in their exports, he added.

Tadic said he would nail down a blueprint for future trade cooperation in a bid to offer new opportunities for the two countries' enterprises.
He called on closer bilateral cooperation in infrastructure construction and technology areas, adding both sides enjoyed great potential in the areas of energy, railways, highways and ports.
Tadic is on a week-long visit to China as guest of Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao. He is the first Serbian head of state to visit China since Serbia became an independent state in 2006.
