CANBERRA, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Australian Treasurer Wayne Swan said on Sunday the government would work with export-sensitive companies to ensure they do not suffer major losses under the current emissions trading.
Business groups are concerned the proposed scheme will drive billions of dollars of projects offshore.
Swan said the government would meet with concerned stakeholders over the coming months to discuss their concerns.
"We will take our time to talk to industry to those people who have been making the commentary in the press," Swan told the Ten network.
"We will sift our way through all of the genuine claims and of course we will sort out some of the hollow claims," he said.
Swan added that the government had also ensured that international aviation was spared from the scheme.
