BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhuanet) --Telecommunications company BCE Inc. said Tuesdaya Canadian court's decision on the appeals filed by certain Bell Canada bond holders related to the company's pending privatization will be made public on Wednesday.
BCE, the parent of Bell Canada, is in the midst of a proposed takeover by an investor group led by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
On Monday, the New York Times reportedthe banks that have committed to finance the 52 billion U.S. dollaracquisition wanted to renegotiate the lending terms.
BCE would not comment on whether the banks are trying to renegotiate the terms, but said the company still expects the deal to close before the end of the second quarter.
BCE shares rose 1.23 dollars, or 3.4 percent, to 37.85 dollars in afternoon trading. Shares have traded between 32.94 dollars and 44.59 dollars in the past 12 months.
