The 2nd Public Satisfaction Selection on China's celebrities ranked controvercial CCTV host Bai Yansong at number one on the host list despite his drunk hosting in October this year.
Entertainment program hostess Li Xiang, however, came in last "as always" with a considerable score margin, according to a Sina.com report on Thursday.
Final results also show that Hou Yaohua, a famous crosstalk performer and Tai Lihua, a hearing-impaired dancer in "Thousand-Hand Guan Yin" group dance, lead respectively in the categories of Quyi art (a general term for all kinds of talking and singing arts) performers and dancers.
It is the first time for the survey to cover TV hosts. Bai Yansong, with a score as high as 814.43,may also takethe top spot on the survey's lists of celebrities' public satisfaction.
The survey, launched by Lian Xin Power Survey, a prestigious domestic survey agency, assessed the performances of about 700 celebrities this year.
Five assessment categories were covered, including professional ethics, performance, commitment to public welfare, social influence and commercial values.
Also according to the survey result, versatile performer Pace Wu Pei Ci surprisingly ranks above Taiwan leading hosts Jacky Wu Tsung Hsien and Patty Hou. Her scorings in professional ethics and performance far higher than veteran CCTV hosts like Jing Yidan and Li Ruiying, the mainland household names, have triggered some widespread controversy.
Moreover, prominent Chinese comedian Zhao Benshan, Song Dandan and Cai Ming are found out of the list of Quyi but get listed as movie actors as they have shifted their focus to film this year.
Hostess Li Xiang unluckily keeps the last despite less negative reports on her coming out this year. How come this happen?
A source disclosed, as learned from the survey, the public assess celebrities based on their impression over the star on a long time basis. It cannot be changed overnight, except some outburst incidents, such as Gong Li falling dead in ranking for her citizenship switch and CCTV sportscaster Zhang Bin's public standing downfall for his "third party" scandal.
