The body of a Japanese aid worker who was abducted Tuesday in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarahar province was found Wednesday, a police official Abdul Ghafor in Nangarhar said.
However, he did not give more details.
Meanwhile, Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Zamarai Bashari in talks with Xinhua confirmed that the body was found this morning in Khiwa district.
"Police found the bullet-riddled body of the Japanese aid worker from Khiwa district around 11:00 a.m. local time (0630 GMT)Wednesday morning," Bashari said.

The ill-fated Japanese aid worker, Kazuya Ito, 31, had worked for Peshawar-kai, a Pakistan-based aid agency, in Kuz Kunar district of Nangarhar province was abducted Tuesday along with his local interpreter as he arrived at the site of his work.
Taliban purported spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid later Tuesday said that the Japanese man and his local interpreter were killed in Khiwa district during a clash between Afghan security forces and Taliban fighters.
Taliban militants apparently as change of tactic have focused their gun towards aid workers as they killed three female aid workers of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in the southern Logar province, 60 km away from Kabul, on Aug. 13.
