Bulgaria's opposition is to file the sixth non-confidence vote against the three-way ruling coalition on July 24 over its failure in adhering to the rules of the European Union and in the absorption of EU funds.

This was released to the media by Stefan Sofiyanski, the Chairman of the Union of Free Democrats, on Thursday after the latest round of consultations in Parliament.

The step will be taken a day after the European Commission publishes its monitoring report on Bulgaria.

A total of 80 MPs have already signed the demand on the vote, including representatives of the right-wing parties and 13 independent members of the parliament.

The motives for the vote the opposition formations agreed on are related to the incurred moral and material damages to the country and its citizens because of the inappropriate absorption of the EU funds.

Sofiyanski announced that Bulgaria had lost over one billion euros for a year and a half of EU membership.

The representative of Democrats for Strong Bulgaria party Vesselin Metodiev assured data revealing abuses of funds will be showed during the debates on the motion.

All opposition parties together with the extreme right Ataka party and the Bulgarian New Democracy party, which split off from the governing National Movement for Stability and Progress, and with several independents have a total of 82 MPs.

The governing coalition has 150 MPs in the 240-seat Parliament. This will be the sixth no confidence vote against the government since the beginning of its term in August 2005.
