Feathers and bows and peony pink, oh my! Donna Karan took it to the boudoir for her Resort 2009 collection, aptly titled "Bonjour New York." Karan's Fall 2008 collection, with its slinky robe-like dresses, had her setting her sights on the bedroom, and this collection followed suit.
Marrying French sass with New York sophistication, Karan's signature sensualist touch came through in this feminine collection presented Tuesday, June 3, in New York, where she softened classics like the trench, the suit and motorcycle jacket with bows, volume and light-as-air fabrics.
Karan said she always gets very girly this time of year, as evidenced by her celebration of classic femininity. The collection featured mostly dresses for day and evening, with a few modified cropped jodphur pants - almost like pajamas - thrown in to balance out tops embellished with black pom-poms, crystals and pearly beads.
