Ex-Siemens employees Enya and Jessie ventured into the restaurant business with a health-conscious "yoga cafe" in mind but later changed their business plan to Tao, a minimalist restaurant with tranquility as its theme.
This black and white eatery C with only a splash of color from the plants C gives Lucky Street a touch of class. Similar to SALT, Tao also has weekly prix fixe menus: two-course/three-course lunch (RMB 68/88), and dinners (RMB 148/168). With an experienced hotel chef and well-trained wait staff, the food here C reminiscent of five-star hotel food C is consistently good and pleasantly satisfying. The crab cakes with lemon and honey were absolutely delightful, and the salmon with sweet pea ravioli was seared to perfection C although the sweet pea ravioli failed to keep up with the moist texture of the fish.
And the lamb loin was a juicy slab of meat, deliciously seasoned with sage and crushed peppers. Definitely worth another visit.
