Bayer AG, Germany's largest drug maker, Corning Inc, the world's biggest maker of glass for flat-panel displays, and 13 other foreign companies plan to increase their investment in Taiwan, Bloomberg News said.
The enterprises, which also include 3M Co, Alibaba.com Ltd, Siemens AG and Scandinavian Health Ltd, will invest a combined US$150 million to US$200 million in the next 12 months to expand factories and establish research and development centers on the island, Taiwan's economic affairs agency said in a statement in Taipei yesterday.
