FRANKFURT, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Germany's GDP growth is estimated to reach 1.7 percent this year, Economy Minister Michael Glos said Thursday.
The projection, which had taken various uncertainties into consideration, was very realistic, said Glos.
However, the result would be affected by factors like energy and food prices, and individual consumption, he added.
But most analysts had a pessimistic outlook, saying the economy might fall 0.5 percent in the second quarter.
The government will issue a new economic growth projection on Oct. 21.
