HONG KONG, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks plunged 702.99 points, or 4.98 percent, to close at 13,405.85 on Tuesday.
Turnover dropped to 38.50 billion HK dollars (4.97 billion U.S. dollars) from Monday's 43.93 billion HK dollars (5.68 billion U.S. dollars).
Hong Kong stocks opened sharply lower on Tuesday morning by moving down 735.82 points, or 5.22 percent, at 13,373.02, following the plunge of U.S. stocks and Asian bourses.
The Dow Jones industrial average plummeted 7.7 percent Monday with worries from the investors on economic situation.
