TOKYO, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Japanese government on Wednesday nominated Bank of Japan (BOJ) Executive Director Hirohide Yamaguchi for the central bank's deputy governor post.
The government has presented the nomination proposal to the Diet.
Yamaguchi is in charge of the BOJ's monetary affairs.
His appointment will require approvals from both the ruling bloc controlled House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, where the opposition maintains a majority.
Japan has a divided diet but the House of Representatives has the final say, while the House of Councillors can delay bills.
