Police detained a 16-year-old boy surnamed Xu on Sunday night for leaping, ninja-style, over the walls surrounding a rural roadside courtyard in Baodi, Tianjin municipality. A neighboring villager had observed his antics and, assuming the boy to be a burglar, called the police.
When questioned, the boy turned out to be the courtyard householder's son.
Xu told the police that he was a Chinese kungfu fanatic, and often practiced at night.
