
BEIJING, Oct. 9 -- American rock band Linkin Park has canceled its upcoming tour of the Chinese mainland, including a show in Shanghai, because of an injury to its lead vocalist.
According to Linkin Park's Website, singer Chester Bennington injured his back and is under doctor's orders to refrain from physical activity and travel.
An Oct. 12 concert in Shanghai, another on Oct. 15 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and the final performance scheduled for Oct. 19 in Beijing were canceled.
Linkin Park said through its Website that it sincerely regrets the cancellations and apologized to fans for any disappointment caused. It did not provide further information about Bennington¡¯s injury.
Details about ticket refunds will be released today at www.ticketmaster.cn and major media outlets in cities that were scheduled to host the American band, Sina.com, reported.
Concert organizers are keeping in touch with the band and will announce any make-up dates if and when they are scheduled, the report said.
The concerts were organized to raise funds for victims in Sichuan Province. Tens of thousands died in May after a catastrophic earthquake hit the province.
