The paper said that the gunmen of Hezbollah mistook the helicopter for an Israeli aircraft dropping off soldiers in the south of the country and opened fire, killing a pilot and several crew members wounded.
Hezbollah, meanwhile, described the shooting at the time as "a very unfortunate and painful incident." But it did not say whether the group shot at the helicopter. There has been no government comment on the event.
Former Lebanese prime minister Salim Hoss asked Hezbollah to provide clarifications on Thursday's shooting of the helicopter in the southern Lebanese region.
The area where the shooting took place is under the control of Hezbollah, Hoss said on Friday, regretting the killing of the Lebanese officer in the attack.
The paper also said that miscoordination between the Lebanese army and the resistance was behind Thursday's accident.
