Both sides expressed hope that the signing of such accord will be possible during a meeting of the Polish-Russian Commission for Economic Cooperation in the fourth quarter of 2008, Polish news agency PAP reported.
Sides also agreed that an agreement on cooperation in combating pollution of the Baltic sea with oils and hazardous substances should also be signed at the same time.
Both sides also expressed interest in quickest possible resumption of navigation through the Vistula/Kaliningrad bay.
Discussing air transport, sides stressed that in view of fast developing traffic it is advisable to further develop air connections between the two countries.
The experts also stressed good cooperation in road transport which grew 20 percent in the first quarter of 2008 vis-a-vis the first three months of 2007.
The Polish side motioned for an increase of the number of licences for international road shipping. The Russian side assured that it has a positive approach towards Polish proposals regarding bilateral and transit permits.
The debates of the commission were co-chaired by Secretary of State at the Infrastructure Ministry Tadeusz Jarmuziewicz on the Polish sides and by Russian deputy Transport Minister Aleksander Misharin.
