SEOUL, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's jobs creation reached a 43-month low in September, reflecting the companies' reluctance to hire new workers amid global economic uncertainty, the country's National Statistical Office (NSO) reported Wednesday.
According to the NSO, 112,000 new jobs were created last month from a year ago, far less than the government's annual target of 200,000.
The figure is lower than 159,000 created in August and is the lowest figure since February 2005, when the economy generated 80,000 new jobs, the NSO said.
Meanwhile the country's jobless rate fell slightly in September from a month earlier.
The unemployment rate posted 3 percent last month, 0.1 percentage point down from August, the NSO added.
