Stocks close lower in Philippines

MANILA, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Share prices closed
lower on Thursday in the Philippines.

The benchmark 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange index fell 33.17 points
or 1.6553 percent to 1,970.72 while the all-share index went down 17.32 point or
1.3658 percent to 1,250.77.

Losers outnumbered Gainers 68 to 24 while 30 stocks remained unchanged.

A total of 636 million shares changed hand valued at 1.14 billion pesos
(24.5 million U.S. dollars).
