Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Wednesday arrived in the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur for a visit.

The president's two-day visit to Darfur will include three stops, which include the city of Nyala, the capital of South Darfur and El Geneina in west Darfur besides El Fasher in North Darfur where the United Nations and African Union joint mission is headquartered, Xinhua correspondent learned.

During his visit in the city of El Fasher, Bashir is to visit the peace camps of Salam and Zamzam in the city, give a speech in a public rally here, and hold meetings with the North Darfur officials.

Al-Bashir is expected to announce during his visit here a number of resolutions including a new plan to address the Darfur crisis within the framework of what known as the "people's initiative."

He is also expected to launch a number of projects in the fields of development and services in Darfur, while starting several projects and programs intended to contribute to the peace and stability in Darfur as well as the return of the displaced to their home villages.

The visit came after over one week after the Hague-based International Criminal Court (ICC)'s Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo requested an arrest warrant against al-Bashir for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the western Sudanese region of Darfur. The last time al-Bashir visited here was in July2007.

Sudan, which is not a member of the ICC, has rejected the ICC allegations, dismissing them as "null and false" and maintaining the ICC has no jurisdiction over Sudan.
