STOCKHOLM, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Swedish government announced Friday a 23-billion-kronor (about 2.8 billion U.S. dollars) economic stimulus package in efforts to deal with the fallout from the ongoing financial crisis.
The measures included providing more support for the unemployed people and offering extra funding for vocational training at both high school and college level.
The package also called for more spending on infrastructure projects and an increase in the tax deduction available for construction services related to home repairs and maintenance.
"Sweden has felt the (impact of the) global crisis," Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said at a press conference.
"Sweden is a country that depends on exports, and that is difficult when so much depends on the situation in our export markets," Reinfeldt added.
