According to news released on Tajik president's website, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev paid an official visit to Tajikistan Friday at the invitation of his Tajik counterpart Rakhmon.
After meeting with Medvedev, Rakhmon told reporters that Tajikistan and Russia are natural strategic partners and allies, the two nations, therefore, coordinate and support each other in addressing domestic, regional and global issues.
Rakhmon said this applies to the moves Russia is taking in the Caucasus, stressing that political and diplomatic means are the most appropriate to solve the conflict.
The Tajik president spoke highly of the rapid development of cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, saying that Medvedev's visit will become a milestone in the history of bilateral ties.
