Tsunami warning issued for NE Japan after strong quake

Japan's Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning after a strong quake hit northeast Japan at 11:39 am (0239 GMT), NHK said on Saturday.

The epicenter of the magnitude 7.0 quake, 37.627 north latitude and 142.111 east longitude, was 303 km from Tokyo, U.S. Geographical Survey said.
